Our Attempted Backyard Campout

We set up our tent, ate our dutch oven dinner, sat around our fire pit, then took down the tent, cleaned up the sleeping bags, and went inside! I think our winds were over hurricane stregnth! Suddenly there was thunder and lightening. Luckily we were in our own backyard, so we didn't have far to go. It was a good thought!

Random Pictures.......

Kevin patiently teaching Korey how to make a sushi roll.

Crazy kids, sitting in the middle of the street. Luckily, we live on a very quiet street.

Becca loves to turn the bathroom into a salon and wash her hair.

He made it!

Kevin is officially "home" for the next 4 months.
He will post pictures, but as we all know, getting Kevin to give details is quite a chore. I will post information as he tells me things.....
He arrived in Spain this morning around 6:00 am my time, 1:00pm in Spain.
We learned a lot about traveling with his "cheap" flight from Paris to Madrid.
The plane ticket was only $100- BARGAIN! But the maximum weight on his
suitcases were 44 pounds, instead of the standard US 50 pounds.
So he had 2 suitcases overweight and had to paid for each kilogram he was over.
He said he had to pay an additional $300 to get his suitcases to Madrid! NOT GOOD!
But there was no other choice. He couldn't leave his things in Paris!
I guess we will have to learn some lessons the hard (and expensive) way.
But he is in Madrid and he is moved into his little, teeny apartment.
He has a shelf in the refrigerator for his food.
He has a dresser, desk, bed, and bathroom in his room.
He went grocery shopping with people from his building, no one from USA.
He ordered pizza and ate with everyone. I think it is a great experience for him.
I am very happy that he has such a wonderful opportunity.

He made it to Paris

After a STRESSFUL day of wondering where in the world is Kevin P, we finally found out he made it to his hostel in Paris. Kevin Mc had to come home from work to call the hostel because we couldn't make international calls from work or from our cell phone.

He is having a great time and already had his first rush hour experience with 3 suitcases and a backpack on a subway with no escalators. Sounds GREAT!

He is exploring the city today and hopefully he will post some pictures soon.
He is going to visit the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum.
He said his room is TINY! But hey, it is cheap and no one else is sleeping in the same room.
He will be flying to Madrid on Tuesday morning.

I will try to keep the information up to date until he posts pictures and info on his blog.
I am so happy for him to be there, seeing things I have always wanted to see.

Hiking down Snowbird Ski Resort

We had a great idea to hike down a ski slope.......it was a long 3 hour hike down.  It was a beautiful walk but it is really hard on your legs, especially the last hour.

ANOTHER Vacation!

We spent a week in Midway, Utah~thanks to Doris and Richard.
